Hello ECP Families...I've been thinking about you a lot!  I think it's because of all the changes that are happening here in my little world. 

The filterless photo at Abby's award ceremony above explains it all: 

• Madeline will be headed back to college after a knee surgery this summer (Special Education), 

• Ryan has graduated high school and is also headed off to college (Sports Broadcasting),

• "Baby" Abby will be entering high school, and

• I'm moving to a new studio space in Hillsdale, NJ!  

Despite life changes and career changes as I move into my studio to hold space for YOU, one thing remains the same:  My Secret Formula.   

I just photographed another newborn miracle baby, and fell so deeply in love with this family, that I already know that I want to someday photograph this tiny baby holding HER tiny baby, and all the meaningful stuff between now and then.  

With my own family, when I share stories about you, I never use the word "client." I've always addressed you as my ECP families because our work together is too meaningful and intimate be described as a client transaction.  

When I was a teacher, in those last few sweaty days in June, my students, who'd had their eyes on the prize of SUMMER all year long, suddenly became really sad, realizing that our little classroom family would never exist in the same way again. (I did too.).  "I'll miss you Ms. Campbell," they'd say.  And I'd say, "Once a Campbell Kid, always a Campbell Kid"  to remind them that we'd always be connected in some way.

What did "Once a Campbell Kid, Always a Campbell Kid" mean?  It meant, as much as their families wanted me to, I'd be in touch.  I'd still be available to work through pain points or to celebrate accomplishments.  It meant that, for life, I wanted them to continue to overcome the obstacles we'd discovered and that I'd be silently (or obnoxiously) cheering them on from the sidelines.  It's been beautiful to watch, over the years, as former students find me on Facebook and update me on how far they've come.  

Whether I was teaching Kindergarten, or 2nd Grade, or Middle School, or I was creating photographic art, the secret formula hasn't changed:  People who feel loved, seen and heard have the confidence to show up and shine.  The results - in the form of test scores or painted wall art - are indisputable. 

I had a realization today that you, ECP Familes, and your kids, are also "Campbell Kids" in your own sweet way.  As my biological "Campbell Kids" go out into the world, I know that they, too, will always remember that they've been part of something special.  That they have felt loved, seen and heard. 

THANK YOU for being part of the ECP Family.  No matter how far life takes me (even if it's aaaaaall the way to Hillsdale), I love you, I see you and I hear you.  "Once a Campbell Kid, Always a Campbell Kid." 

So.... "Campbell Kids," I'll be reaching out soon with upcoming events (She is Love(d) Casting Call, Grand Opening, Dog Days of Summer, Headshot Marathons, AND Christmas in July), to name a few.


Serving you is an honor that I don't take lightly, and I hope to continue doing so, with my whole heart, for a long, long time.
